There were a bunch of new hotfixes deployed on November 29. You can find the full list of fixes on Wowhead. The gist of the changes other than the hunter changes that I’m including below was a bug fix that removed the ability to skin Cataclysm leather from low-level NPCs and several of the new quests had been bugfixed. Among them the very annoying Uther’s Blessing quest which wasn’t doable for anyone over lvl 61.
- The free Aimed Shot from Master Marksman was dealing too little damage. It now deals the same or a little bit more damage than the base Aimed Shot.
- Spirit Bond is now correctly applied when monkey or dog pets are active.
- The Gorishi Fledgling Colossus is now longer immobile when tamed.
If you don’t know what pet “Gorishi Fledgling Colossus” is, look at the picture to the right. Definitely a good choice for a Silithid don’t you think? I’ve tamed a brain bug myself though.🙂
The wording of the change to Aimed Shot sounds a little bit alarming, “deals the same or a little bit more”, do they not know how much damage it does? Sure an increase is great but did they introduce some random mechanic here or what? To find out I went to the shooting range and compared a regular cast Aimed Shot vs. the procced Aimed Shot (which you can see on the wowhead tooltip only deals 95% ranged weapon damage instead of 100%).
After a few minutes of testing I compared the two shots and found that the procced version of Aimed Shot dealt approximately 1% more damage than the cast one. So this is of course a good change because the procced Aimed Shot would be doing a bit less than the cast one and now it’s doing sliiiiightly more. However it’s not terribly exciting is it? I’m guessing they changed the 95% ranged weapon damage contributor to 101% or something like that.
Other noteworthy stuff today is that Blizzard released the new Moonkin Hatchling and Lil’ Ragnaros pets for purchase on their online store. One interesting thing about the Ragnaros pet is that he actually functions as a fire for cooking. Pretty nifty!
Also the feat of strength for logging in during World of Warcraft’s 6th anniversary is now available and will remain available until December 14 (if we are to believe Wowhead). So if you want this epic badge of honor, log in!
