Updated (2010/11/11): The updated blogpost on Wowhead brings many updates, but they are all tooltip fixes in their database and not any actual actual changes. This update brings accurate numbers on Hunter’s Mark and Aspect of the Hawk to Wowhead, finally.
Updated (17:40): New information about changes to Survival.
Wowhead lists a lot of changes for hunters but most of it appears to just be tooltip fixes. Some of the numbers are tweaked but I believe these numbers are the ones MMO-Champion data mined last time and some of the information seems inconsistent. Aimed Shot for example is listed twice, once with 100% ranged weapon damage and then again with 95% ranged weapon damage… so I don’t think we should look at this data as gospel just yet.
Some abilities will now be learned at different levels though:
- Disengage is learned at lvl 14 rather than lvl 78
- Scare Beast is learned at lvl 36 rather than 14
- Deterrence is learned at lvl 78 rather than 36
MMO-Champion now confirms that some of the tooltip changes appear to be correct:
- Black Arrow base damage reduced by 35%, from 3685 to 2396.
- Explosive Shot now scales from 27.3% of Ranged Attack Power, down from 42%. Additional base damage reduced by 35%, from 697 to 454.
I am inclined to believe that this is indeed an accurate change and not some mistake of data mined databases conflicting (like last week) since recent reports stated that Survival’s dps was very very good and possibly even a bit too good. And here’s a nerf, not too shocking.
Most importantly though is the change to Kill Command that Ghostcrawler let us know about via the official forums:
We made a couple of fixes to make Kill Command more usable. The pet will no longer check for range or facing since there is already a check in place when the hunter tries to use the ability. This should make Kill Command feel less laggy and should never burn the cooldown or Focus without executing the attack. See how it feels in the next beta or PTR build.
